SANDEE@10: Call for Panel and Papers
SANDEE is organizing a two-day conference on December 6-7, 2010 in Kathmandu to mark a decade of the Network's existence. This will be an opportunity for SANDEE grantees, associates, advisors, and trainees to present and discuss their work. Submissions are invited for panels and individual submissions from SANDEE associated colleagues.
PANELS: Panel submission would ideally involve 3-4 speakers who have been grantees, associates, trainees or advisors at SANDEE. The theme of the presentation has to be a topic related to Environment & Development. Panels could be thematic (involving more than one country) or country-focused (single or multi-theme). Research papers presented should be original research. Panel proposals must include the name, designation, email address (for correspondence) of all panelists and individual abstracts of all papers expected to be part of the panel.
Individual Papers: Researchers are invited to submit papers (independent of panels) on on-going research. Individual proposals must include the name, designation, email address (for correspondence) of all authors and an abstract.
Topics: The broad areas in which panels and individual submissions will be accepted are: (i) Theoretical/ empirical research papers, (ii) policy analysis, and (iii) training & curriculum development.
Selection process: The first stage would involve submission of abstracts (not exceeding 500 words). These will be reviewed and a shortlisted set of proposals will be invited to submit full papers which will be reviewed by a scientific committee. Selected paper writers will be invited to present their work. If a paper is co-authored, only one author will be invited to present their paper. Paper presenters will have the opportunity to receive feedback from leading economists attending the conference.
Note: Please note that individuals may submit abstract/papers for only one panel or as an individual paper. In case a panel proposal is not accepted, each abstract will be screened as an individual paper submission. Similarly, SANDEE at its discretion may suggest an individual paper submission to be part of a panel. Decisions regarding selection of panels and individual papers will be the sole discretion of SANDEE. All submissions and queries may be emailed to sandee10@sandeeonline.com
Travel Support: SANDEE will provide travel and accommodation scholarships to all speakers invited to this conference.
