Introduction to Quantitative Environmental Economics Course

South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) is organizing a five-day training course on Introduction to Quantitative Environmental Economics (IQEE) during January 21-25, 2010 in Pokhara, Nepal.

Workshop objectives:
This course is a practical course and is designed for teachers and researchers who want to understand and apply economic tools to valuing environmental goods and services. The course seeks to provide a general introduction to environmental economics and to inform students about specific methods and strategies for undertaking valuation exercises.

Who should attend the course?
The ideal participant should be a nepali having a Masters Degree in economics with at least three years of teaching experience as a full time faculty at TU's MA Economics programs in government colleges outside Kathmandu Valley. As this is an introductory course, researchers and teachers who have a prior training/degree (MA/PhD) in environmental economics are not eligible for the course).

What can you expect to do during the course?
Participants are expected to read assigned material and participate in detailed assignments and discussions during the course. We request you to pass this information to interested colleagues. The costs of the course will be borne by SANDEE. Approximately 20 participants will be invited.
